Candace Vaughn
Candice Vaughn is a graduate from Arizona State University and received her Bachelor of
Fine Arts Degree in Dance Choreography. Modern and Ballet were her main styles of study. Through her
course work she was able to receive a well-rounded knowledge of dance and integrate it into her own teaching
and movement. Candice had the opportunity to work with Nina Watt, a former dancer of the great Jose Limon.
Jose Limon was one of our pioneers of modern dance and choreography. Candice Choreographed for an
Emerging Artist I Concert in February 2007.
Her piece received great reviews from peers, viewers, and faculty
members. By doing so she was able to gain experience in other areas such as costume design, music, and
lighting. After attending ASU, Candice has been able to train in Ballroom dance. She has worked with Ballroom
dance companies in the Phoenix area and has been proud to be able to provide private, group lessons,
and choreography for wedding couples, Quinceaneras, and motivated ballroom fanatics.
Candice has been
able to perform in ASU performances, studio showcases, and in her personal group and individual Hip-hop
performances. Working with all age ranges, she has been able to provide diversity, fun, and growth to those
whom she teaches. She has a life passion for dance and is always working to better herself and her abilities to
help those around her.
Yovonie Johnson
Yovonie Johnson grew up in Illinois and New Mexico. She has been dancing since she
was a small girl, and she has been trained in tap, jazz, and ballet. As a child she performed with community
and youth dance groups. In high school she was involved in drill team, and she was the captain of her cheerleading
team.
Yovonie is married and has two beautiful children. She is working on her degree in Early Childhood
Education.This is her second year teaching at the studio and she is so excited to see her past students
again and to meet all of her new ones! She hopes to share her love of dance and cheer with all of her students.
Amber Duve
As a "native" of Maricopa, Amber Snow Duve understands the need for arts within the community.
Her passion for the performing arts was discovered at a very young age and continued to develop as she
participated in community and school productions. She received a B.A. in Communication with an emphasis in
Performance Studies and a minor in Theatre.
She has years of experience performing on stage, teaching
chidren and youth, as well as directing and assitant directing shows for children and youth. She loves working
with children and firmly believes that performing arts provide a positive outlet in which they gain confidence,
self-esteem, social skills, and more, all while developing their talents and having fun!
Amanda Zimmerman
Amanda Zimmerman studied dance from preschool through her first few years in college.
She was the captain of her dance team in high school and helped the team achieve numerous superior
ratings through choreography and technique. Amanda is a mother of 5 (4 girls and a boy) and has a wonderful
and supportive husband Matt.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and works full-time
for the Department of Defense. She is delighted to be able to continue her love of dance by teaching technique,
building confidence, and strengthening stage presence in your children.
Carrie Goettl
Carrie has been dancing since she was 8 years old. She loved competing and performing and traveling
with her dance studio growing up. She performed all through college in school and out, touring Europe as
well, performing and taking class with the London Ballet.
She loves to dance, but loves to teach dance even
more. She is so excited to teach this next year's line-up of tap classes, and lyrical. She graduated from Arizona
State University with a degree in Music Therapy. She has five fantastic and talented children and a wonderful
and supportive husband.
