"Experience the Brilliance of Dance"

Class Descriptions
Ballet - Students will learn a variety of ballet styles.  We teach all of the ballet positions and steps with a focus on proper technique and to dance with passion.  Ballet is not easy, but it is the basis of all other dance forms.  Knowing and performing ballet technique will help students in all other dance realms.  It is essential for serious dance students to attend ballet classes.

Pointe -  A serious ballet student eventually will wear pointe shoes; this is when a dancer stands all the way on the tops of their toes.  The pointe shoe is a hard shoe made so dancers can accomplish pointe.  Dancers must attend years of ballet class before they can attempt to dance with pointe shoes.

Tap - During tap, students will learn soft shoe tap, Broadway style tap and rhythm tap.  Students are required to purchase tap shoes for class.

Jazz - Jazz is danced to upbeat, popular music.  There are many forms of jazz, which our students will enjoy learning.  In jazz the legs, feet and hips are typically turned in.  Jazz and ballet also require a lot of flexibility.  Beginning jazz students will focus on flexibility and coordination skills.  Students need to purchase jazz shoes to attend this class.

Hip Hop - Our Hip Hop classes are similar to what is seen on TV or on "So You Think You Can Dance."  Hip Hop also has a variety of styles and is danced with upbeat, fast, popular music.  Students in these classes will focus on choreography, strength, stamina, and many intricate movements with all parts of the body.

Lyrical - Lyrical is a cross between ballet and jazz.  Lyrical dancing is performed with music that moves and flows with quick movements and slow drawn out movements.  Lyrical dancing uses turn in and turn out rotation with the hips.  Lyrical is very elegant and beautiful to watch.  Lyrical also helps to lengthen and strengthen all muscles in the body.

Clogging -  Clogging use shoes that are similar to tap shoes, except the taps on the bottom of the shoe are looser and split into pieces like a puzzle.  Clogging is usually extremely fast, upbeat and uses a chugging motion with most of the steps.  Clogging shoes are required for this class.  Clogging is very fun!

Musical Theatre -  Musical theatre is a really fun class.  Students learn to sing, act, and dance in this class.  Focus is primarily on dancing, but acting and singing are also incorporated.  An Example of a musical theatre piece would be "Annie," "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers," "Oklahoma," "Bye Bye Birdie," "Pirates of Penzance," "West side Story" and many more.  If your child loves to sing and act this is a great class to attend.

Ballroom -  Ballroom is a fun to learn!  Our classes will teach the basics of ballroom so that you can go out and have a good time dancing.  Dances taught are swing, waltz, cha cha, salsa, and many others.  Come join us for a good time!

Aerobics -  We have a wonderful, energetic, fat burning pilates/aerobics class held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.  This class consists of a 1/2 hour of cardiovascular exercise using standing pilates movements and dance aerobic movements.  The second 1/2 hour of class involves pilates mat work, stretching and lengthening of the muscles.

Yoga - Miss April Jagar, our yoga instructor, is trained and certified in her field.  She often trains others in yoga and massage.  She is extremely talented and her classes are relaxing, energizing, and uplifting.  Her yoga class focuses on strengthening, toning and breathing through all of the major yoga poses.
